A Handmade Book

This is my first attempt at bookbinding,

It's a watercolour sketchbook, 5x7 in size

There are 5 signatures each has 4 pages of watercolour paper

The cover is very thick card covered in hand decorated paper.
I used brown paper, brushed with inks, fabric paint to stencil the flowers.

These are my new Markal Paintstiks they are oil paint in stick form.

I have had my eye on these for a while and put them on my shopping list for the show but at £54 a box I decided to leave them there and found them at a more agreeable price online.
I used these on the sketchbook cover to highlight the raised areas of the crumpled paper.

 Front ~ I used Pearly White

Back ~ I used Leaf Green

 its not perfect but I'm pretty pleased with it as a first attempt.

This is a gift for a special person and will
  accompany a box of watercolour paints.
