Crochet Hook Case

A little case to hold all my lovely colourful hooks. Made from recycled blanket and hand embroidered. I made this while away on a caravan trip. When I got back home I lined it with fabric to stop the smaller sharper hooks from pushing through the blanket fabric.
A little Hook Hugger :)

Learning a new craft

I have always wanted to learn to crochet. A few times I gave tried to learn from a book and never quite got it. I decided to gather a few friends together .. some could crochet, some wanted to learn.
We had a little crochet evening ...of course there was cake too!

For the last two weeks I have practiced learning new stitches and pattern reading its a lot to take in but worth it this is my latest attempt.  The pattern is from this months issue 17 of Homemaker magazine. I didn't have cotton yarn, just used the acrylic I had.

...and these were my practice pieces

Soft Toy Storage

Inspired by similar ideas for storing soft toys on Pinterest. I decided to convert this wooden corner shelf unit that my Dad built a few years ago, to a more usable storage unit for Charlotte's soft toys. I'm sure dad would have been delighted to see how we have re-purposed it!

Kevin drilled 5mm holes through the thick pine base and top.

Eye screws hold the 5mm thick pink bungee cord in place on the inner shelf edges.
